Gerald Robinson

Program Manager and Principal Investigator, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

As a Program Manager and Principal Investigator at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), Gerald largely works to address procurement barriers related to the adaption of resilient energy technologies. Related to this effort, Gerald is part of a team of researchers investigating the potential benefits with greater use of DC power systems in buildings. Gerald supports the U.S. Department of Energy’s Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) in providing procurement and technical assistance to Federal agencies.

As part of his role in supporting FEMP, Gerald leads teams developing resilient energy programs and procurements designed to simultaneously reduce utility costs to the taxpayer while increasing the reliability of power supplies. Gerald is an energy manager with over 25 years experience initiating and completing a broad range of energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy system initiatives. He has a track record of innovative yet practical problem solving in both the private and public sectors, as well as extensive knowledge of all phases of project development and implementation including technical sales, research, project finance, audits, building commissioning, analysis, specifications writing, construction management and commissioning.
