Sustainable Purchasing 102: Uncovering Policy Alignment and Engaging Internal Stakeholders to Support Your Sustainable Purchasing

Atrium Ballroom

Though your sustainable purchasing program may be small, by collaborating with, supporting and being supported by other individuals, teams and programs in your organization you can multiply your capability and impact. With sharing of success stories, individual work and discussion, we will help you think through some of the key resources you can leverage to build your program’s visibility and success – including high level sustainability commitments and diverse colleagues across your organization. You’ll leave the session with ideas on how to uncover allies, energize colleagues, and leverage support from other teams and business units to grow your program and meet your goals.

Learning Outcomes

  • Attendees recognize they have great resources, and relationships to build upon.
  • They begin sketching up ways to ensure that their purchasing activities align with other organizational imperatives.
  • They identify a starting group of key stakeholders to engage to ensure consistency with other programs and goals.
  • They understand that contributing to their organization’s existing goals and successes will build goodwill for their program, and supercharge their efforts.
