Tim Reeve is recognized as a Canadian thought leader in social, ethical and environmental procurement. He has developed social and environmental policies, strategies and programs for three provincial governments, dozens of local governments, as well as in the private sector – in particular, he has provided strategic advice to the City of Mississauga on the development of their Sustainability Strategy and Merchandising Program, to the Province of BC on their Green Purchasing Strategy for Ministry of Citizens and Lab our Services, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador on their Green Purchasing Strategy and Toolkit and to the City of Edmonton itself on their Sustainable Purchasing Program.
He has extensive stakeholder consultation experience (including internal staff, suppliers, community NGOs and labour unions) for sustainable procurement projects and has been involved in stakeholder engagement for the City of Vancouver’s Ethical Purchasing Policy and indigenous engagement for the Vancouver International Airport Authority’s sustainable procurement framework.
He is the founder of the Municipal Collaboration for Sustainable Procurement, a member-based network of Canadian higher education and other public-sector institutions and is a Strategic Advisory Committee Member for the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council.
Through his 25 years of experience developing and managing successful environmental strategies, corporate sustainability programs and stakeholder engagement processes for government bodies, and private sector and non-profit organizations, he has extensive experience in implementation and in applying tools and decision-making frameworks to support sustainable procurement.
